As an active HWA member (Horror Writers Association - the group who bestows Stokers) - I can say that these stories have not been "nominated" - they have been recommended, which just means someone put them on the big list. Indeed, the organization explicitly forbids people from saying they were "nominated" or a "finalist" until after the final ballot comes out. So this is not only pimping spam - its misleading pimping spam.
