2012 - London gets Olympics
We beat the French!!! at the bid for the 2012 Games, I'm very pleased

Paris was the hot favorite, but we gained more votes against France and other Nations contenders.

and if I'm still living in London in 6 or so years time, I'll get to see some top sport on me door step, since the last time we hosted the olympics was in 1948.
