Monsters (TV series)
Currently watching it on Chiller and got me thinking. Anybody remember watching this show. Pretty sure it only ran for like 2 or 3 years. Maybe '88 to '90. A few years before i was watching horror but i was curious as to how impactful (if at all) it was to your life as a horror fan. Seems like it was a good show for its time and i could imagine enjoying it back then. In the same sense ill also include Tales from the Darkside but that was also more Sci-fi and Fantasy than this show.

Me neither. Found it channel surfing and was too curious not to ask the forum. Theres a marathon of it running on the Chiller network. Not bad so far considering when it was made.

From my understanding, Mosters was a spin off of sorts of Tales from the Darkside. Richard Ruebinstein worked as a producer with George Romero on Tales, and then went on to produce Monsters on his own.
Both series are great. I love days that either SyFy or Chiller has then on all day.

I vaguely remember this show. I think there were a bunch of horror TV shows in this format back in the day.

I remember it being about at the time but it made no impact on me other than remembering it existed! I think Tori Spelling was in one! There was a ton of anthologies around at the time and it just blendid in with all the others!

I remember watching it while I was living in Sweden sometime around the mid/late 90s. From what I remember it was pretty good, not really scary but entertaining.

Monsters was a good one and so was Tales from the Darkside. I have the entire series of Tales on my PC and I still watch them.
Another good one around the same time was Freddy's Nightmares, hosted by Robert Englund in Freddy character. Some good episodes there as well. |
