A group of friends and I got together over the weekend to watch these classics:
"King Kong vs Godzilla"
Not my favorite Godzilla film, but entertaining nonetheless.
"Trog"
Joan Crawford's last film and what a lousy way to go out. Hysterically bad film.
"Batman"
The 1966 Adam West adventure. Goofy as hell, but I love it.

White Zombie"(1932)
-Bela Lugosi

Phantoms Review: Don't expect to see violence, action and gore with this movie, this is classic old style horror. Spooky, atmospheric and very melodramatic. Lugosi is at his best in this creepy little thriller. Very enjoyable.

Jack the Giant Killer (1962)

This is a childhood fave of mine. The scene with the first monster is just fantastic. Watch as part of an 'Irish' double bill for Paddys Day.

I WAS A TEENAGE FRANKENSTEIN (1957) on an old VHS I still have. Find this quite enjoyable with Whit Bissell getting in some zingers in dialogue and pretty gory for the time and AIP. Hope this comes out on a good quality DVD double feature (I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF) with commentary and maybe the Alice Cooper song "Teenage Frankenstein" as well. ***1/2

HORROR HOTEL AKA CITY OF THE DEAD 1960.

A reclusive town, a student studying the history of witchcraft and lots of graveyard atmosphere and fog....(lots of fog). Great stuff.

Fears, I did watch the rest of DEAD OF NIGHT 1945 but found myself really only enjoying it from the ventriloquist story to the end. This may have come from watching it in 7 different parts. I do love the Hollywood glamour of these old films...the men almost always in suits and the women beautifully turned out, day or night.

As for CITY OF THE DEAD 1960, Mr. Lee's worldly good looks and commanding voice also add to any movie he's in.

"Viy" (1967) 6/10

Fairly amusing but the story was kind of a bore. The ending was good tho.

Omg I finally have access to a computer again. I've been gone for forever but I'm back and watching The Horror of Dracula.
