Halloween III is great. I thought it was pretty cool how they left out Myers after his demise in Halloween II and didn't bring him back to life in some retarded way.

The lashout when 3 came out was so bad that the whole project got shelved, rumors are Tobe Hooper had a story going for #4...may be one of his other movies out now...then somehow, someway they got back to the Michael Myers idea...but the orginal idea was for totally different story each year at Halloween.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch, soo misunderstood!

Sure some of you are saying "There is no Michael Myers in this one, what did this have to do with the first two? or the series?" well i believe this highly malgined and unloved Sci-fi horror thriller is very good.

You see folks, you have to realize that Michael Myers died at the end of "Halloween II", John Carpenter with Dino De Laurentiis studios and Debra Hill with Moustapha Akkad had an idea to make the series into a big-screen horror anthology series much like "Creepshow" or "Tales from The Crypt" centering around the halloween holiday which would have been better if the Halloween sequels continued this route to do something different instead of the same old Michael. Unfortunately it bombed at the box-office and was panned by both critics (Even though a few of them liked the movie) and horror fans alike thus the anthology idea was scrapped and Michael returned in "Halloween 4".

I thought this was an interesting movie that combines occult horror with technological sci-fi much like "Event Horizon" or "Evilspeak", it's got a great Carpenter score and a good storyline with a fine performance by tom Atkins who's good as always in his movies with good splatter.

Just suspend your disbelief over the title and enjoy the movie for what it is.

I really like this flick. It would've been quite cool if the anthology thing happened but I guess people didn't want to think outside the square.

Ive yet to see it myself, looks pretty cool though.

Planning to work my way through the Halloween series in a couple months, once I get my hands on 'em all. Ive gone through Friday the 13th and Im going to finish the Nightmare on Elm Street movies tonight...Halloween just seems like the natural next step. As yet Ive only seen the first 2, both of which are among my favourite slashers.
