Has anyone ever seen this movie? this is a movie, like many others, i had been turned onto by my oldest brother waaaay back in the 80's
got for Christmas on dvd and to me it's a classic! i love this movie. i love movies you have to think about and this was one of those. it's definitely one of my favs. i consider it to be horror-esque b/c of the horrific things that take place in the movie....anyone else see this or have thoughts on it???

Rutger Hauer's BEST movie. C. Thomas Howell's BEST movie. Love this thing. Finger in the french fries was unforgettable.

The sequel sucks balls. Hated it.

The sequel had the balls to kill off C. Thomas Howell (normally a good thing) halfway through the movie. What the hell!!!

First one might be my favorite road movie. I'm a big fan of Eric Red's writing!!!!!

Yes, Joy Ride did rip it off a bit (as it did The Duel and a ton of other road movies) but that's what exploitaion movies do. And besides, I can't say anything bad about John Dahl. He's like the only guy in Hollywood who still wants to make indie-type films.

i actually really liked joy ride....i mean, let's be real....what movie that comes out these days that isn't a rip of something else...wrong turn was like a few other movies i can think of but i LOVED THAT MOVIE!!! it just depends on what they do with the movie...some turn out better than the ones that came before...you can have a great idea but it takes all sorts of elements to pull it off...writing, casting, etc. i liked steve zahn's character a lot and he and paul walker seemed to work well together. though paul's cute that's all he is a far as an actor IMO. he's just not very deep. i'm not usually a fan of the helen hunt look alike either (what's her name?) but in that one (joy ride) i thought it worked (all the characters, i mean).

Pissed me off too.

I'm down with Eric Red too. Near Dark, The Hitcher, The Last Outlaw...what's not to love?
