Interesting.

I actually watched a cartoon about this guy (and his "team" of other junion captain marvels etc), but this must have been a bit later.

The very first show I HAD to watch was the original Batman series. Yeah, the one with Adam West. I didn't get the campy humor at all ( hey, I was like 3 years old ), but all that POW, POP and BLAM stuff just thrilled me! I really loved the dynamic duo and all the villains. I still love that show today, and now I get the jokes!

My other earliest TV memory is of the Ghost Host and his wonderful Horror movie show on Friday nights. As a little kid of maybe 7 or 8, I was already staying up waaay too late to check out all the scary stuff on late night TV. Ghost Host was our local horror host and he and that show are one of the big reasons I'm such a complete horror freak today.
I am too young to have watched the original Batman, but when I saw it later I thought The Joker was done really well. Not how I want the joker to be generally, but it was an amusing variation.

For me it was Saturday Nightmares on USA. They showed 2 or 3 horror movies each saturday night.

Dr. Shock started out on Saturday nights, then they moved him to Saturday afternoon.

Oh, and when I was a teen, I watched American Bandstand and Steel Pier.

I watched to much TV as a kid. A lot we had on tape. Difficult to narrow if down but there are some I remember so fondly that I still watch them today.

Scooby-Doo (the classics)
Danny Phantom
CatDog
Angry Beavers
The Amanda Show
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Gilligan's Island
Big Wolf on Campus
Goosebumps
Just about anything on ABC's "1 Saturday Morning" or the "Toon Disney" channel.

Cheers reminded me of a few:
80s TMNT
Invader Zim
The Munsters

Btw, Cheebs, you have great taste! Voyager is my favorite Star Trek too! I didn't watch any of the shows til I was about 18, so I'm not adding them to the list. However I did love Star Trek IV growing up. I was big on whales as a kid so dad introduced me to it which then later got me into the franchise.

When you say growing up, that is a continuing process:

My favorites were:

Gunsmoke
Rawhide
Wagon Train
Cheyenne
Have Gun Will Travel
Twilight Zone
The Fugitive
The Invaders
Adventures Of Superman
The Honeymooners
The Life Of Riley
Boris Karloff's Thriller
The Outer Limits
One Step Beyond
McHale's Navy

And when I was a little older and still growing up:

Murder She Wrote
Matlock
Walker Texas Ranger
In The Heat Of The Night

I'm sure that there are more but can't think of them now.
