My expectations were very high for this, why wouldnt they be for Raimi Campbell back together?

Overall this was exactly what I was hoping for! The only thing that upset me and i mean really truly deeply upset me was the incredibly high use of CGI, that shit needs to stop asap.

Its not going to, its cheaper and easier. If that's what they have to do to hit a budget that allows the show to be made, then I am willing to sacrifice.

First episode was a solid begining to what looks like its going to be a great show.... I'm no fan of CGI over practical effects, but i thought it was faithful to the original and the gore still had a bit of an old school feel to it.

I'm only two episodes in so far and the show is great. I just got into the original Evil Dead during the Halloween month so the continuation is perfect. I said the exact same thing as Ash when the first Deadite showed up. I now really get why people didn't like the remake. It's the Ash character. The remake might be serious and straight. And I didn't like the comedy parts in Evil Dead 2 that much. But Ash from Army of Darkness and now this is one of the best horror heroes in the movies.

So far I only got a few pet peeves.

1. The supporting cast. Ash could easily have taken this journey alone and I think it would've worked better.

2. Some of the dialogue sounds like it's written by a 15 year old kid.

3. A running time of 30 minutes is too short.

Just binged through the season and I freakin' love it.
It's like we finally go an Evil Dead sequel, only difference it's a series instead of a movie.
It was so fun to see Ash again. And his one-liners. Just great.
The CGI is only a small annoyance.
Like Jake said, if that's what it takes to allow the show to be made, then I'm willing to sacrifice.

I was a big fan of the Evil Dead movies, but I have yet to watch the series. I only have basic cable, and Netflix. I dumped Hulu awhile back.

As a long time Evil Dead fan (and Army of Darkness) I love this series. It captures the original series perfectly while making it new. It's fucking great
