Iron Chef

Ok, firstly. Was I the only person watching the old japanese Iron Chefs on food network? I cant believe they replaced it with good eats (which i do really enjoy) and a Rachel "Im an attention whore now" Ray show. So now all i get are episodes i downloaded (and have no time to watch) and Iron Chef america, which is a pretty annoying knock off. i hate the american chairman. I hate that fat jerkoff that always craps on everyone's food.

I like Mario Batali, Morimoto, and even Kat Cora isnt bad, but Bobby Flay is a douchebag....

it just sucks in comparison to the old one. i guess this is my version of Ringu. The american version just doesnt hold up.

The old Japanese episodes are the best....the dubbing, the over the top chairman....priceless!

The American version with Mark de Costas as chairman is okay and Bobby Flay IS a supreme cunt(you just know he's gotta be an egomaniacal dickhead in real life)the rest of the chefs are fine.

Kat Cora is nice to watch but she's no Giada.

Meh. They say never trust a skinny chef. I dont trust skinny italian cooks who use soft lighting in their show...

I would get a kick out of Paula Deen on their though.. she's a riot.

Or Barefoot Contessa. She would eat the other contestant like a bagel.

I really miss the old Iron Chef. I loved the chairman because he dressed like Liberace, and the dubbing was truly hysterical sometimes. The older food critic lady was so rude sometimes, I'd be in stitches. And the end judging, with the announcer doing his best Batman episode cliffhanger impression.....
Who did it??? Who's triumphed????WHO'S CUISINE REIGNS SUPREME?!?!?!?!???
I wish they'd bring it back.
Iron Chef America sucks.

I loved how the "man on the floor" was always interrupting the commentator with "Fukui-san!"

the commentator (or the voice actor) would start getting annoyed, and you could hear it in his voice.

I alos got a kick out of how they seemed to use the same dippy chick as the voice for the young women judges. I will forever associate that voice with stupid japanese women.

LOL I know exactly what you mean. The way she would always say " Oh, so goood!" and then laugh dippily used to drive me nuts. The old lady taste tester was much better, she really sounded like a mean old bitch. Except when she was flirting with Sakai.

And for days, the guy saying fukui-san! Always sounded like Squison!! to me, and I wondered if that was someone's name, or the chef saying, "hurry up"....but now I know better.:p

I loved the original and America isn't bad but I have to say I'm more of a Good Eats fan. When they did the whole witch skit from Holy Grail with duck... funny stuff.

The put-on accents of the american voice actors was priceless.
