Both were awful. I made it 25 pages into The Stranger and was so annoyed with the writing. Cliche as fuck. Silly in a very bad way. Its a writing level of a 15 yearold with a tiny bit of talent and skill. Midnight Grinding was basically the same. I read a few of the first short stories and they were boring, predictable, etc. More adult, but not by much. I wonder if The Stranger is published because so much young adult fiction is popular and this seems on the level of young adult fiction, but without any skill or talent. So avoid if possible. 1/10 for both.

No it's nowhere near as good as It. Had some good stories and some not so good.

ORDEAL by William a Johnstone. Trashy read about a large group of campers in the Montana wilderness who have the bad luck to be nearby a large prison break that results in much pain/suffering for them. Meanwhile a group of weekend warriors is also nearby and pretty much solve the crisis. Really badly written with an extremely conservative bent as well as an ultra Liberal son of one of the WWs that is so annoying that you wish the cons would inflict some pain on him. Junk, to be sure, but entertaining junk that will do in a pinch.
