Lightbulb Any moderns you think will be Classics?... Saw I-???

I'm curious if anyone has seen any horror flicks inthe last few years that you think will the next classic. Any of the Saw movies? Devil's Rejects?... anything sub-mainstream?... I saw this one called Buried Alive i thought was fairly contemporary but somewhat good... maybe not a classic, it was like a mini-series.... anyone else?

Man, The Descent being remade? With as simple and vague of plot as the plot is in this movie, if it became a remade classic, the prophecy of "Idiocracy" may come true.

Is this the definition of a classic then? A movie that has been remade?

i cant think of anything that will be a true classic.

Saw will get known as another weak franchise
[rec] should be a classic - but as it's foreign it'll only be considered classic to hard core horror fans.

problem is that usually a classic film is something with a new idea - it breaks the mold and captures the interest of everyone - becomes a household name.

TCM
the thing
halloween
exorcist

(non horror fans even know these names...)

i cant think for the life of me anything thats come out in the last 10 years that will become a classic - regardless if it's deserving or not. Mostly because people are more jaded now - they've seen 'everything'

should be classics but wont be:

Cloverfield
Session 9
The Ring
[rec]
the others

cant think of any more for the moment ... but there are probably a good 5 others.

Its difficult for a film within a series to be singled out as a classic, even the most original of films, obviously, loses its uniqueness if sequels start to follow. It becomes assimulated within the franchise and stands or falls by the strength of the franchise. As we all know, the general rule is the longer the series goes on the weaker it becomes and Saw is a good example of this.

I would hope these are considered classics in years to come:

Pans Labyrinth
Cloverfield
Seven
Frailty

It may have flopped at the BO, but I see this becoming a big cult classic in the years to come.
