ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN (1948). Often called one of the best comedies ever, it's also one the best films ever, period. A and C are perfect and while the Monsters are lampooned (particularly Glenn Strange's Frankenstein Monster), they still come off as scary and retain their dignity.
Great seeing Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney Jr again in their defining roles.
Love this and can watch it over and over. *****

The Revenge of Frankenstein

Peter Cushing at his best!

THE EVIL OF FRANKENSTEIN (1964). Peter Cushing is great in here and although the film could be better, not as bad as made out to be. **1/2

THE PENALTY is really good...have THE MAN WHO LAUGHS but still haven't put it in yet.

FREAKS (1932). For sure a cult movie and way ahead of its time. Lot of unforgettable scenes and the freak's revenge is still scary as hell. Great commentary by David Skal. ****

The Sniper (1952)

Beautifully shot, a noir-esque psycho thriller!
