Annabelle: Creation (2017)

The best movie in the franchise since the original Conjuring, and it's surprisingly the most brutal. Creation has some really great connections to all the other films in the franchise and sets up one of the future movies.

Date Movie (2006).

It does a pretty good job if you're just looking for some entertainment.... not as funny as I thought it'd be though.....

Silent Hill: Revelation
Now THIS is what I expected from the FIRST movie. (In case anyone didn't see my post after watching the first movie on HDC's Facebook group from when the site was down, I thought it was shit.) Mostly for that final battle though, which was so damn boss, I think I eyegasmed watching it. I didn't care for it at first, there were some cliche horror movie stupid decisions, but it got better as it went on. By time our main character gets to Silent Hill, I had completely forgotten my complaints.

Perished is a pretty good short film because it does not stretch it's ideas too long. It says what it has to say and then it's done.

Not much mind blowing stuff, though it does succeed in illustrating the isolation one can get into during the zombie apocalypse, not to mention the every man for himself-feeling.

Evil Dead

Here we go. THE REMAKE. Christ, this is sad. There's soooo much subplot with the main characters who are siblings and backstory we don't know or give a shit about cause we all know everyone's going to die anyway. It just takes away from the story and makes the other characters look like assholes when really they're all just fucking awful.

The only thing going for it is the effects, which are nice and bloody. I of course vote for the original on which is better, but blood effects in it were not the most convincing. But then again the original didn't have pointless animal death, so fuck this movie.

And as always, if you find a book wrapped in black plastic and bound tight with barbwire like a birthday present to Satan, DON'T. FUCKING. OPEN IT.

GRUMPIER OLD MEN (1995). Much like GRUMPY OLD MEN (1993), this has a great cast and truly funny moments, but too much padding slows things way down. **1/2

Carnage Park: It started off really good and thought it was thrilling. The ending disappointed me though and didn't fill in that much. Lots of lose ends and not much of a surprise. I'll rate it as B.

It was good, but not fantastic.
