Probably my all-time favorite Beatles tune:

I could never pick my favorite Beatles song. It all depends on the mood I'm in, what's going on in my life, a whole bunch of different variables.

This morning, this would be my favorite:

I will say this, I really don't care for pre-drug Beatles. The stuff they released before Help! is pretty unlistenable. But from Help to Let it be, there might be only 5 songs I really don't care for.

Oh man, She's So Heavy is one of my all-time favorites, for sure.

Unlistenable? Are you serious?

Good point fortunato. I forgot how good You Can't Do That is. I saw her standing there is good too, but from years of hearing it played over and over and over on the radio, it's kind of lost it's luster to me.

If I was Roberta Flack, this would be my American Pie.

I can understand that; there certainly are Beatles songs that are just so ubiquitous that I never listen to them on my own, nevermind how good they are.
There's also just an amazing progression from their early material to their later, more experimental work.

Let's also say happy birthday to Billie Holiday, who would have turned 97 today.

On the first 4 albums, the musical progression was a little slow for me. But Help!, while the songs matured greatly, but they still had a few songs with that trademark beatles sound. Rubber Soul, the same thing, but more professional. And Revolver is just completely different. And every album afterwards was just it's own individual masterpiece (with a RIngo song thrown in here and there).

I love talking about music, but I usually refrain from talking about the Beatles. There's just too much to say. And no matter how much I gush, I still couldn't come close to given their work justice.

These guys do it for me! There's such a smooth, tubey sound to their music.
