Try Event Horizon. The online description won't sound like what you're looking for...but after you watch it, you'll understand.

I can't quite remember, I saw it over a year ago. All I remember was the basic twist and the fact that it was uniqely terrifying.

I really need to see this. I haven't seen a decently hellish movie... ever.

You'd really like it, methinks, seems like your kind of style.

Have you seen Hellraiser? And, if so, have you seen Hellbound: Hellraiser II?

...both are exquisite.

Hellraiser 1 had practically nothing hell in it if you ask me. Just the cenobites, but that wasn't really hell. Yes it was hell related, and lots of talk about it, but it wasn't THERE. I do love Hellraiser though.

As for #2, ha... That depiction of hell made me laugh. Woohoo a labrinth in the sky... That movie got to the point of making almost zero sense to me. Random things happening and random hallways and sliding coffins and such... Weird, weird movie. The thing with the hellraisers is that, although it seems like they should be... none of them are scary in the least...

Yeah I am pretty sure that is Event Horizon. Hey will probably remember the infamous 'Eye' scene as well.

Good movie overall with some really great nightmare inducing scenes and vivid visuals. I was pleasantly surprised that it was far more horror then sci-fi.
