I was laughing my ass off at the scene with Sharon Stone at the end. She reminded me of Weird Al in the "Eat it" & "Fat" videoes.

John Wick (2014)
B/C Jason Statham type action flick with Keanu Reeves. Lots of ass kicking and some sweet kills but the (bad) CGI blood is a bummer. Some roles were miscast and the better actors got smaller parts. Best acting was by Ian McShane (Al Swearengen, Deadwood). Dark Summer (2015) Somewhere in between meh and crap but I'm sure some'll think it's ok. |

"Out of the Dark" 5-6/10 An american family living in Colombia is haunted by dead children. A horror movie with a budget, nice production and decent actors. Too bad it's a one-trick pony when it came to scares. Loud noises in your face. Pathetique.

"Dark Summer" 6/10 Fairly entertaining story, but the scares didn't work the least even tho the movie really tried to.

JACOB'S LADDER (1990). Some good scenes here and good performances by Tim Robbins and the late Elizaabeth Pena. However, the film drags on and quickly becomes a lukewarm take on "Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge". **1/2

"What We Do In the Shadows" 8/10 "Some people freak out a bit about the age difference. They think, what's this 96 year old lady doing with a guy four times her age? And, you know, I don't care. They can call me a cradle snatcher. Who cares?"

I know I'm pretty late to the party here, but I only recently found the time to finally watch Under The Skin. Absolutely fantastic movie, and even more bizarre than I had anticipated it would be. I really appreciate that people are still willing to make movies that work on atmosphere and intrigue, as opposed to heavy dialoge and constant action. Plus, with this and "Her", Scarlett Johansson has finally silenced the people insisting that she will never be considered a "good" actress. Good job all 'round.
