Indeed it is and the Movie rocks too!

Found THE GIRL NEXT DOOR (Is your copy by Jack Ketchum?) very well written, but very hard to get through. My daughter has reddish hair and the same name as the title character...found it more disturbing knowing it was based on a true crime in the 1960's.

It really and truly is.

I was just thinking about the first book about five minutes ago, and made a mental note to myself to read the other two. The first one was great. It had a very Lovecraftian feeling to me, and with me being a huge Lovecraft fan that was awesome. Definitely have to read the other two soon.

Yes, sort of Lovecraftian. Though I felt that the atmosphere of the first book was more like the atmosphere of the middle of House of Leaves.

Just finished this. Poor writing, poor character development, mediocre description. Decent idea for a story, but executed poorly. There is even a villain explains his master plan at the end. However it was great for helping me to fall asleep each night. Read a little, not become engaged, mildly entertained, drowsy and then sleep.

3/10

I chose this book because I had read Stephen Laws Darkfall. Again poor writing, but an interesting idea and it wasn't written as poorly as Daemonic.
