Quitting Drinking

"Hi, I'm Elvis and I'm an alcoholic"

To many wrong turns over the years as a result of the juice so I giving some serious thought to quitting the shit for good.

7 days sober so far.

I don't think I could or would want too...

I've certainly cut down alot though but I do really enjoy drinking - not so much the social pub thing but the actual effects..

It helps me tolerate other people too..

Every bit of "legal" trouble I've ever had has been as a result of alcohol.
I still drink though, only in controlled situations and yknow maybe once every 2-3 weeks...I never really enjoy it unless it's really pure beer or tequila, everything else tends to fuck me over - like, I'm missing about 80% of last night on account of such.

Anyways, best of luck keeping it going - just know that once you get out of habitual use, you can always go occasional. In the end, your wallet makes the decision, eh?

Wow - Quite a commitment! Good for you. A friend of mind just went cold turkey last year and she's struggling with it - Good luck!

Working in the restuarant and bar business for so long took a big toll on me. Too many foggy nights and horrible mornings was getting too much so about a month ago i went sober for two 1/2 weeks. It really helped me both phsyically and mentally more so than i would ever have imanaged. I still drink ocasinally but nowhere near the amount i used to. Now knowing i have control over it really helps also. Good luck bro hope it helps you out as much as it helped me.
