If you see it for the first time the way you did with just that specific moment then I guess it could make someone jump but the first time I saw it I was watching the movie and when that paticular part came I knew what was about to happen.

books no, Doom 3 & Clive Barkers Undying Pc games both made me jump quite a lot... but I wouldn't go as far as saying they scared me.

get an xbox 360 it has a game called gears of war. it's a mixture of hollywood action films and asian horror films such as ringu, the eye, and Ju-On
