No one mentioned Gremlins or Gremlins II. :)

I started watching R rated horror flics at an early age so I never got into the horror movies for kids.

Myers mentioned Gremlins on the first page.

I thought of a few more...

Eight Legged Freaks
Alligator
Arachnophobia

We haven't gotten into them yet, but not because I have been avoiding them. I don't think I worry so much about gore, I loved the saw series and we will probably get into them in the next year. There is something differently disturbing about Hellraiser that I am not sure if he can handle yet. It may be the sexual aspect, maybe its that I cant seem him understanding it yet? Like sure I make him cover his eyes when tits pop up in Friday the Thirteenth, but I'm not sure how to explain the whole pain for pleasure aspect of Hellraiser. I want him to understand the movies and not just sit next to me as an excuse for me getting to rewatch all of the classics.

Wow, am I the only one starting seriously to watch horror movies with like... 18? xD My parents didn't want that I watch horror movies, I remember when the Blair Witch Project was coming to TV when I was like maybe 11 or 12 and they sent me to my room while they were watching and afterwards told me how horryfying it was and how good that I didn't see it. Maybe until the age of 10 I was only watching cartoons, I was not interested by live action movies, I found it boring to see actual people in the TV, and during my teenage years I was not watching horror either cause my father despises them and when they were shown in TV I was already in bed sleeping. So it was only starting when my parents divorced when I was 17 that I watched some movies with my mum in TV, but in Germany horror movies are not often shown in TV xD

Now my girlfriend, a horror junkie herself, makes me discover my love for the genre. But yes, I am actually very pissed that I seem to be the only one not watching horror movies as a child xD Wish my parents would have been like you Jake.
