Loved the Re-animator movies, I can't believe Vod ,being such a hugh Lovecraft fan, hasn't seen it.
Also love From Beyond but can't find it, I'll have to check out E-BAY. While we are on the Lovecraft subject, what ever happend to The Call of Cthulhua game? |

This guy is one of my favorites. It's interesting how his earlier stories involve things like witches and gods and black magic, and his later stories like The Shadow Our of Time depict complex alien societies, yet it all somehow seems to fit together.
I did read the story with the Gug. It's one of the ones with Randolph Carter; it's one of the longer stories. I don't remember the title. Yeah, one day they'll make a good movie based on his writing. To make a decent Lovecraft movie I think you'd have to do a couple things. First, set it in Lovecraft's time period - the first 30 years or so of the 20th century. It would kind of ruin the sense of otherwordly horror to have characters watching CNN and talking on cell phones. And what fun would Cthulhu be if you could just vaporize him with a nuclear weapon? Second, tone down the fantasy aspect of his stories-magic spells and all that. I don't mean eliminate it altogether necessarily; just tone it down. Third, you've got to have a little action. Lovecraft's stories are big on psychological horror, but modern audiences want to see Stuff Gettin' Blowed Up. And I always wanted to see the army blowing away Innsmouth fish-men with BARs and tommy guns. Finally, leave some mysteries unanswered. Some movies ruin themselves by explaining everything. Monsters come from radioactive waste or genetic experiments gone wrong, etc etc. What fun is that? Suggest things, and let the audience use its imagination to fill in the blanks.

In a story by H.P. Lovecraft, Cthulhu is a malevolent, alien entity trapped in an undersea city somewhere in the Pacific ocean.

I knew i liked you, Kemal :)
Cthulhu has many forms (he is maleable), but he is basically a giant winged octopus headed monster.: Take your pick:
