"Imprint"
Pretty good īn far out story, although i was disappionted to see Miike turn away from the ghost scares early on in the movie, coz they were creepy as hell and to me the highligts of "Imprint". Especially the scene where the ghost is slowly showing up behind the geisa. Ooooh man, one of the best scares iīve had in years. But then Miike decides that he will rather disgus his audience than scare them and begins with his loving torture scenes, which is also fine by me, but i donīt enjoy it as much as the few ghost parts. The only 2 problems i had with this movie was: 1. I didnīt understand half of what the japanese actors were saying. Most of them spoke worse english than Jackie Chan in "Rush hour". 2. I didnīt know how bad an actor Billy Drago really was before i saw this movie. Iīm surprised Miike wasnīt able to find a better actor for his leading role concidering heīs a more famous direcor than Takashi Shimizu. But all in all a very good short-movie. And definitely recommendable.

Well, I just finished watching my first japanese horror movie ever and I must say I was a bit disappointed. It was "Pulse" and... I was expecting something ghastly like The Ring (I only saw the american version) but it had no real scares. The general mood was creepy, ok, but it was nothing compared to the shock and trauma that The Ring gave me. That continues to be THE SCARIEST movie I've ever seen in my life, still haunts me (even during the day, sometimes brrr).
Oh well, did anyone here love Pulse and can explain to me why is it listed as one of the best japanese horror movies? The next one I'm watching will be A Tale of Two Sisters... I'll then tell you how it went :D

If you donīt like that one either i want your sorry ass banned. Just kidding... But not really.:D What i liked the most about "Pulse" was the few ghost scares it had. Thought they were creepy as hell. Especially the encounter with the weird walking ghost lady in the forbidden room. That scene made the hair on my neck to stand up. That so rarely happens these days, that when it finally does itīs pleasure overload for me. :)
