original werewolf head statue

Hello,Can anyone tell me anything about this old staue.It is very heavy,old,and appears to be made of wood.or can you direct me to where I might find some information thank you.

It's actually a bust of the 1941 Wolfman starring Lon Chaney Jr.

It was made shortly after the movie came out, by Norman LeClaire who was a respected sculptor and mask maker from France. There are only 5 in existence and the last know bust sold for $15,000 at Sotheby's Auction House in 1998

It doesn't look wooden to me- since the base appears to be white. It looks to be a cheap plaster casting painted to look like wood. My guess would be from the 60s monster explosion, though I have no actual facts to back that up.
