New original Vampire Web Series, Jessica Forever!

Web Series, Jessica Forever, explores addiction, recovery and vampire underworld

New web series, Jessica Forever, combines fantasy with reality as a gripping drama following the life of a recovering methamphetamine addict drawn into a vampire underworld she may never be able to escape.

The 100% original drama-horror web series spans thousands of years, and realistically unveils a world many yearn to be a part of and the reality of what that wish entails.

Westley Cornwell and Luis Garica created the series and were motivated by the lack of a quality Vampire-based web-series.

“If I had to compare the tone of our show to anything else, it would be The Walking Dead because of the realistic approach to the material,” Cornwell said. “A big part of this story is about drug addiction and how it affects lives. In the process of making Jessica Forever, we did a lot of research on the subject and it’s a big part of the story that counterbalances the fantastical elements”.

While the horror of an eternal damnation will be enough to pull in many viewers, the struggle of sobriety set against the background draws a haunting comparison to the many who struggle with getting their lives back on track after defeating a gripping addiction.

Kate Horn, the actress who plays Jessica, provides a performance so real that the viewer will find themselves fighting their own push and pull - both encouraging her to keep her sobriety on track and wanting her to go deeper into the world she’s been fated.

“Upon first meeting Westley, we instantly had a good, creative rapport and I was drawn to the role. I could see he was passionate about this project and had a clear vision of where he wanted it to go,” Horn shares about playing Jessica. “I love that Jessica is not the typical heroine in a vampire story. She’s not the wide-eyed innocent Sookie Stackhouse type who gets caught up in a world of danger and intrigue because of her inexperience. In fact, it’s her experience with danger and intrigue that draws her into this world”.

Indeed, Jessica’s struggle to keep her life on track is tragically mirrored against the gratifying temptation of the secret world she may never be able to leave.
“Jessica wants desperately to do what’s right,” Horn explains, “but she has deep, inner turmoil that causes her to buckle under pressure. I feel very connected to Jessica, she’s an emotionally complex character and masks her vulnerability with a tough exterior. I can definitely relate to that.”

Aside from the challenges life throws at Jessica, horror fans are introduced to a seductive and mysterious new vampire world that will continue to be revealed in future episodes.

“I’ve always loved vampire lore, having dressed up as vampires on multiple Halloweens over the years and being a sucker for vampire flicks and shows such as The Lost Boys and True Blood. I was psyched to play not only a vampire, but a character that is so well-written and very real,” Horn said.

The first two episodes were released on October 31, 2013, with an additional 8 episodes planned for Season 1. The series instantly hooked viewers and is growing day by day, with over 1,500 views to-date. In a growing community of home-based videos creating sensations online, Jessica Forever brings a production quality usually saved for TV and film screens, and fans are taking notice.

“Our goal is to complete seasons 1 and 2 and release a new episode every week,” co-creator Westley Cornwell said. Viewers of the first two episodes are ready for more, sharing comments like: “it could be on AMC. It reminds me of “The Killing” style of show”, and “I loved both episodes...I want Episode 3!” and Cornwell and Garica are ready to oblige and share the rest of Jessica’s story. Release dates for the remaining episodes are forthcoming and will be announced soon.

Series Description:
In the first episode (The Rental, Part 1), the viewers meet Jessica Huberman, a recovering meth addict and mother who is struggling to maintain her sobriety, make a living and ultimately regain a relationship with her young daughter.
After yet another devastating loss and setback in her life, sobriety takes a backseat after a mysterious invitation lures her back to the demons she’s fought so hard against.

In Episode 2 (The Rental, Part 2), Jessica learns she must fight to save everything she cares about, regardless of the cost. The viewer feels the angst and hurt Jessica carries with her as she learns enough about her future to know it will be a dark and sinister ride.

The dark story and feel is one that evokes a myriad of emotions from viewers who will find themselves discovering new details from multiple views that will take them deeper, themselves, into Jessica’s internal battle.

About the Creator:
Westley Cornwell (Portland, Oregon) is an independent film maker who has been producing and directing all different types of media since 2005. From the moment classes at the Northwest Film Center were wrapping up for the semester, Westley started pursuing any way to work in videography and filmmaking. After playing the role of D.P for his first feature film "The Roomies", Westley focused his efforts towards expanding his network of fellow filmmakers in hopes of writing and directing his own stories.

When Westley's favorite horror film "Return of the Living Dead" began with a disclaimer that warned of the film being based on a "true story", he was hooked. The scare factor of that thought at the age of 7 was enough to propel Westley's creative efforts into the world of filmmaking.

Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Westley grew up with a unique view of the world and a purified focus on what he wants to do in filmmaking.
