The Golden 80s Horror Tournament
Its been awhile since I completed my 2nd successful tournament in which Alien beat The Thing to become the best Space Horror movie, as chosen by HDC members.
Now since we have only BW's horror-comedy tournament, I decided to start one on the basis of an idea in one of the other threads, that is to see which movie was THE best of the 1980s. Now everyone knows that the 80s was the last big hurrah for the horror movie genre, and any movies made after that era simply did not live upto expectations. The 70s and the 80s redefined the horror genre and gave many memorable classic horror movies which stand incomparable even today. I have shortlisted a bunch of movies based on user votes and popularity at IMDB ranging from releases from 1980 to 1989. Before starting the tournament, I d like to clarify that the rules stay the same for the initial rounds. 5 votes in favor will decide the winner, and just in case I am not online to declare it, you may continue to vote (just like in BW's tourneys). (Hitting the Rewind button to two decades back) Here we go... Group 1 Round 1:  vs.  First one to 5 votes wins...
