Wow, I always heard there were people that liked the Load era more, but never actually met one. I'm not knocking your tastes, but it's interesting to me because I find Fuel to be the worst song they ever wrote. When it came out, it was one of those songs that just smacked me in the face with "Oh my god...what happened to this band that I used to love so much". And pound for pound, the only 2 songs I even like on Reload are Memory Remains and Unforgiven 2.

"Gimme fuel gimme fiyah, gimme that which I desiyah..." *cringe*. Painful to my ears.

For me in order:

1) Sanitarium
2) Fade to Black
3) Battery
4) Blackened
5) Orion

There are a few others such as One that are like "everyone's favorite" as it were...and I love them just as much as my top 5, but these are the ones that I have singled out as ones that hold special memories or whatever.

Though, I've always been more of a Priest and Maiden type of guy...

i agree, however there is much worse songs than Fuel, say, anything from St. Anger. Anything after And Justice For All sucked.
Kill Em All is probably their best album, closest to thrash anyways, thats why i like it.
and saying Reload was incredible is a criminal offense.

St. Anger doesn't count, because basically everything on that album is barely listenable much less considered "music".

Fuel was just the first song that I remember hearing where I was like "These guys are lost". As it turns out it was the first song off that album and I think it set the tone for the years to come all the way through St. Anger. Granted, it came after Load, but even though I didn't like that album that much there was still the "Oh they are just experimenting" excuse that I tried to tell myself.....and there are a couple songs that are musically okay, they just aren't Metallica to me.

The new one isn't bad....but I dunno if it makes me happy to hear them do reasonable metal again or if it makes me sad because they genuinely TRIED to and that is the best they could do. I haven't decided yet. But it is at least metal, and I appreciate the effort.

I really liked Death Magnetic, its good real catchy riffs and it really reminds me of old school metallica.

I can listen to most of their original albums without turning them off, nothing I'd say I'm a fan of. But everything after they lost the bassist I didn't like. Death Magnetic sounded like a band trying to sound like Metallica.

Hello? Devil's Dance and Unforgiven 2.

Awesome songs. Although I enjoy at least a few songs off everything. Les.... the obvious one.

I don't mind St Anger and Death Magnetic but Load/Reload/S&M are fucking awful.

My favorite album is ...And Justice For All. Its a fucking monster of an album. Amazing musicianship and songwriting. Not sure what my favorite tune would be so many great ones. Blackened is up there for sure aswell as The Four Horsemen.

And Justice For All ties very closely with Master Of Puppets for me. Maybe more of a close second.

My top 10 would be (not necesarrily in order)
One
Blackened
Dyer's Eve
Master Of Puppets
Sanitarium
Battery
Anesthesia
Creeping Death
Struggle Whithin
The Four Horsemen

When they used to make a hard song, they made them HARD and fucking long.
