Death to the video store?
Here's a good topic,This Sunday at breakfest i picked up the newspaper and in the arts and life there is this story on how on line order dvds is starting to catch on.Video stores(Blockbuster to name one)compete with video-on-demand,mail and downloading off the net. Will video stores go the way of the dinos? We already have payper view but think about a pay channel that offers every movie, new release to cult to indie to hard, rare to find films.Just pick up the phone and call it in and injoy, what do you think? ;)

i don't think video stores will die completely. the convenience of walking down to the corner is still there against waiting for your movie in the mail. a ppv for indie and hard to find horror would be great though :) i try to support more mom and pop shops instead of blockbuster. blockbuster edits their movies and i don't appreciate that.

Blockbuster edits there movies, how do you know that? And, what do they edit, I cant remeber the last time I was in Blockbuster as I get most of my movies from netflex.

Netflix is definitely superior to Blockbuster and its like. Video rental stores definitely have the instant gratification thing going for them, it's just that Netflix takes the cake when it comes to selection and price. If there was a pay per view service like Hellsing was talking about, that would be very cool, but I just don't see it happening.

Fuck the video store!!!
I have Blockbuster online myself and really enjoy the convenience.
I haven't been inside a video store since I started renting movies this way.The last time I rented from My local video store a new release cost Me almost 4.00. Since I watch alot of movies, I'm definitely getting a better deal renting online.:) |

It doesn't matter to me one way or the other....I don't rent movies...
I can BUY many movies for the price (or close to it) of what it costs to rent them now...

you guys should try being on MVP for hollywood video.
rent 3 free movies at a time, for like 10 bucks a month i think. but we go to HW video every 2 days or so, so its perfect.

I rent from a online store that specialises in weirder films cause its the only place I can get a lot of stuff. But yeh I mainly buy films now rather than renting them. Still go to the local store tho and I don't think those stores will completley die out.
