Sinister 2

Better than the first, mostly due to seeing more of the snuff films. Though while watching the film I was thinking to myself, "Do I really need to watch this? Is this good for me?" I finished the film, but still not so eager to see a third. The way the snuff films are shot is very effective. I am annoyed, though, for the over used plot line of kids seeing ghosts, parents not able to, and kids not telling their parents. Over and over and over its used in movies and its annoying.

5/10

Don't Breathe.

I really liked this movie a lot. Mega energy and some welcome surprises. I'm not completely convinced that it's horror, but then again I'm not convinced that it isn't. What it is, is entertaining!

The Purge: Election Year (2016)

Bland and on the boring side.
I still like the concept but the execution is just bad each time.

Arq (2016)

Trapped in a lab and stuck in a time loop, a disoriented couple fends off masked raiders while harboring a new energy source that could save humanity.

Time travel movies - always interesting. And this one is well done. Technically sound, good pacing, good acting, and an interesting concept. While not spectacular, I certainly enjoyed this, and worth a watch if you like movies that play with time.

I saw it on Netflix, but didn't add it to the queue. Now I will. Thanks, Smeg!

It was decent, but I remember it being somewhat disappointing. But I can't remember why. I do remember the very end was excellent.
That's pretty much the feeling I had, I enjoyed it but I think it missed a trick somewhere and didn't quite fulfil my expectations.

Aftershock

Took a while to get going this one but when it did there was a pretty much endless stream of brutality on show. Eli Roth's character especially, talk about having a bad day!
Worth a watch but I doubt Id ever revisit it.
