Lurking Turkeys Menace Residents Of Chestnut Hill

Massachusetts - Turkeys are going wild on Chestnut Hill residents, forcing walkers to arm themselves with sticks and parents to guard their children at bus stops.

The turkeys have lived in the area behind the Cleveland Circle Cinema and near a Brookline school for years, but recently they have become unmanageable.

“As I was walking faster, they’d walk faster. I heard a sound behind me and then I felt the turkey’s claw on my back. I was lucky that there was a branch right there and I swung it at the turkey,” said neighborhood resident Marianne Lee.

Lee said she spoke with Brookline Animal Control and was told the birds are endangered and there is nothing animal control can do.

Ellie Horwitz of MassWildlife said that kind of aggressive behavior is not normal for turkeys, unless they have been fed by humans.

Lee wants to get the word out about the turkey situation so the town can help them solve the problem.

I guess that's animal control's way of telling people that the next time your being chased by a turkey to remember your at the top of the food chain and stomp the shit outta that bird.

It's a sad day when I read about fellow humans running for their lives from a 12lb. bird....I'm pulling for the turkey's on this one,these folks sound to stupid to survive.
