So great in its Italian cheeseiness.
Have to have a look at some of those older ones once I've got thru with the Conan knockoffs.

Finally got around to watching Slumdog Millionaire......very good but I could also see where V is coming from. Does not paint a pretty pic of India.

Doomsday. Not Neil's finest, but enjoyable in a James Bonds crossed with Mad Max sort of way. Plenty of gore, and a descently fun chase scene. Enjoyable enough i guess.

Premise Spoiler, sorta???

i kinda got lost in all of the political schananigans, but i am usually lost in this arena in the real world as well. Ashe

Its a great piece of fiction, but a shoddy piece of reality. A patriot's nightmare, a moviegoer's dream.

The Stepfather

It has a rather sinister vibe to it. It wasn't brilliant but not a bad slasher. It could have done with a few more kills though. I might check out the rest of the series.

6.5/10

Night at the Museum 2

Nan thought she's have a heart attack if we saw Drag Me to Hell

So I settled for this. Fun movie with some good effects but it left a lot of questions and many many plotholes. Still, as I said, it was fun. Very predictable. No better that the first one, not that I expected it to be.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)

Well, I can see why Tennessee Williams wasn't crazy about this one - there's no denying that it cuts/edits/alters some pretty major themes, ideas and passages - but barring comparisons to the original work, this is still a damn good film.

A great example of a near perfect ensemble cast...Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, Burl Ives, Judith Anderson are all equally fantastic, and even those with smaller parts like Jack Carson and Madeleine Sherwood still do a great job. I think the real standouts have to be Newman and Ives though...their scenes together are nothing short of electric.

If you happen to be a Williams purist, this might not be the best choice (though it does keep the plot and characters pretty much faithful), but otherwise this is nigh on to a masterpiece.

(Oh, and forgive me for a moment while I state the obvious: Elizabeth Taylor is one of the most gorgeous creatures ever to walk this earth)
