Cloverfield ... again

less impact the second time around - on an 8' screen instead of the theatre - but i'm still in awe of the film.

an incredible gift for fantasy film lovers.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I want to be very, very clear that Cloverfield entertained me quite a bit, and I did like it.

But does anyone else find it a little too...well, gimmicky?
I can't even imagine watching it twice, because after the shock and awe is gone there really doesn't seem to be much else there.

i didnt find it any more gimmicky than any other horror film ...

i thought it had a story to tell - and it told it. i enjoyed the performances, i enjoyed the progression of events ... and i'll probably see the film several times more.

as i mentioned - something is definately lost once you take the film out of the theatre - it's a giant monster film that works best with a giant screen to maintain the aspect ratio between the small you and the humoungous 'it'

but seeing it a second time just reinforced to me how incredibly well made it was.

i actoually found it less gimmicky than any other horror film i've seen in ages - and by that i mean dispite the fantasy premise it took the approach of what would happen if this was possible - and i believe the events and the actions of the characters were extremely natural and believable.

Iron Man – Good, and fun, but as great as I expected it would be, actually. Turns out a lot of Downey’s best lines were in the trailer, sadly. Still, fun, and I expect that the next one will be great.

Borderland

Solid acting. Pacing was good, thought it developed well. Pretty brutal, too. Very decent movie, in my opinion.

Planet Terror.........finally. 6/10

it's funny, i had to wait for my mom to go out of town until i was able to rent it. it was a good movie and i liked it, but it just seemed kind of corny. "I never miss." What was that? the whole tongue thing grossed me out though. Freddy Rodrieguez is freaking hot though.
