Summer Horror Films?

With the sun finally coming out in Seattle I'm excited to watch movies that remind me of this weather. Most of these movies are 80's films such as : Summer School, Meatballs, Just One of the Guys, One Crazy Summer, Jaws 3 ect...... but I can't think of many horror films that I wanna watch, any movies that you guys save for sunny days?

Hmm, there was one time when the weather was extremely hot (by Danish standards) where I watched "The Day the Earth Caught Fire".

But other than that... I really can't think of anything. Horror movies rarely focus on sunshine and singing birds.

Well, there's all those films where a bunch of teenagers/college students on summer break go to camp or camping... starting with films like Friday the 13th, The Burning, and Sleepaway Camp.

How about Uncle Sam, just in time for the holiday.

All great suggestions, I still get the same sick feeling at the end of Sleepaway Camp that I did when I first watched it eons ago. I also added Poltergeist 1 & 2 and Devils Rejects to my Summer watch list.

Personally I like any horror movie in the summer. Nothing beats the windows open and a good horror movie on the TV, hearing noises (or thinking you are) right outside your window. There is no better feeling!

Piranha 3D and 3DD are beachy fun in the sun. If you get tired of the beach, try The Hills Have Eyes for a sunny desert getaway. Tremors is also a good daytime classic. If you want to sing along, like at summer camp, The Wicker Man (1973) might fit the bill.

What about "Club Dread" if you want a laugh? or Texas Chainsaw Massacre (was shot during 100 degree heat wave), or Helter Skelter (1976 or 2004) both TV movies, both terrible from what I remember. It's the real life stories that freak me out the most honestly, especially Manson (all mind control, he never actually murdered anyone, which makes him even scarier). Didn't The Hills Have Eyes take place during the summer or was that just because it was in the desert? Eh, that's all I got right know, gonna crash and go to bed.
