King all day. Ive read a lot of both. As for Koontz, I really liked the Odd Thomas series. It was a little young but it was fun. I read a lot of old King when I was young but after I stumbled upon The Gunslinger he took his rightful place at the top of my favorite authors list.

I'm certainly not the reader I was 20 years ago but I'd say Koontz.

I say King as well.

But yea, Koontz has made some great ones. Cold Fire being my favorite. Not really a horror novel, but when action happened in that book it was impossible to close. The best written action I've ever read.
