Smuggling Spirits, Book 1: by Ben Fisher and Mike Henderson. A graphic novel about a man and a boy running alcohol during Prohibition, except in this world, there are demons and monsters everywhere. Decently interesting, but a little raw, I think. These creators will probably bear watching in the future.

Irecently got nostalgic for these cheap horror comics I read in the 70s so I bought a bunch of them on Ebay. The first one got here today. These were reprints of pre-code Horror comics, but not the "high-class" EC stuff- these were crudely drawn and told tales of disgusting import. I loved them for their crass cheapness and I'm still loving them as I read through them again. Definitely some of the most lurid covers ever printed. |
