I didn't know it was out yet! Been looking forward to it. Did you watch it streaming or in the theater?

From Chan-wook Park's Vengeance trilogy to recent highly intense serial killer-thrillers like THE CHASER or I SAW THE DEVIL...
I love all the films you referenced, and this one's been in my queue for a while, so I guess now it's time to watch it. Thanks for the nudge.

Really good, solid horror. Great writing - Funny dialogue and gags that were well-timed and played, this movie is not just another home invasion flick. A lot of fun to watch. I want to see it again because I sat next to people who talked through the whole time... Which is unfortunately why I don't go to the movies very much anymore.

Recommended.
I loved it too! Joe Swanberg's attempt to convince Ti West that he should make commercials, because, you know, that's where you can really be artistic -- hilariously self-aware. Good suspense, and a couple of the kills caught me off guard. I'm looking forward to watching this again.

"Maniac", '12: Truly twisted, one of the best endings ever; and who would have thought Frodo would make such a great serial killer?

LOVED The Conjuring, Mama, Evil Dead '13

Saw "Frankenstein's Army" and it stunk, which pissed me off because the premise could have made a great movie

Watched it for the 5th time tonight.

Also, totally agree about the Maniac remake. Can't wait to see that one again.

I wonder if anyone had seen the recent Vampire Academy movie. I read the book, but I kinda missed the showing. But am still interested to see it.

Latest horror movies

I enjoyed:
The Purge (can't wait to see the sequel) - even though it's not really "horror"
Mama
Evil Dead (remake)
Cabin in the Woods
The Conjuring

I pretty much love anything by Guillermo del Toro!!

Based on a true story about the unsolved murder case of Frog Boys...on March 26, 1991, five kids went to a nearby mountain to catch frogs but never returned. Eleven years later, police discover their remains (bones & cloths). Meanwhile, a struggling TV producer team-up with an ambitious college professor who tries to analyze the case with an interesting theory & different point of view and made some efforts to solve the mystery...!!

This year has been GREAT in terms of movies - I've had a ton of fun at the theater:

I definitely recommend:
  • Grand Budapest Hotel
  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes
  • Edge of Tomorrow
  • Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Snowpiercer
