Original Amityville for me. Still creeps me out more than almost any other movie.

The scariest experience as a result of watching a movie, for me was Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), which kept me up terrified all night with nightmares. I actually don't think I slept more than an hour I was so scared. I was probably about 8 years old.

The Shining had the same effect, but I remember Body Snatchers being worse. I don't remember which I saw first, probably Body Snatchers.

I was always afraid to watch the Exorcist, even as an adult. I didn't finally watch it until about age 25, and it was as scary as I expected it to be.
