Nice to Eat You: Zombie Comedy Movies
Found this on About.com and thought that I'd post it here for zombie comedy lovers. Most of these I haven't seen.
I have to say that I am particularly disappointed that Night of the Comet is NOT listed here. Thoughts on the list? Favorites? Omissions? Good? Bad? http://horror.about.com/od/horrorthe...iecomedies.htm

One they missed:
Days of Darkness Crazy bizarre zombie no budget wacked out indie flick. Story is all over the place, the acting's not the best, special effects are not special, but there's enough off the wall strangeness to this film to make it so bad it's good. Usually I hate this kind of thing. This time it won me over. Give it a look. (Copied from my review in the Comcast thread.) Quite agree with you on Fido- it's brilliant. (For some reason I thought you didn't care for it. Maybe it was your review in your blog) Also on Night of the Creeps. Way overrated. Not nearly as funny as it thinks it is. |

Whatever Night Of The Creeps is fucking solid.
Shaun of the Dead... now there's an overated flick that illustrates how tiresome this subgenre has gotten (90% of it's output is Braindead knockoffs). Loved Dead Heat and dug the hell outta Fido. Undead is a total shitfest and I'd rate is as one of the worst horror flicks I've ever seen. |

You're right about Fido; I was really disappointed the first time I watched it (where my Blog post came from). I think I had really high and skewed expectations. After a couple of more viewings, though, I really like it. Not sure why I was bored the first time - Could be I wasn't in the mood? Glad SOMEone agrees with me on Night of the Creeps! Almost unwatchable!! I think the best part is the beginning on the spaceship with those little aliens - I think it would have made a better alien movie parody. Quote:

Days of Darkness DOES get better as it goes along. Weird bit after weird bit start piling up until you have this cumulative effect of a big bunch of weirdness...hah... particularly one detail of zombie physiognomy that I've never seen any other film have the audacity to go there the way this film does.

Isle of the Damned is the best horror comedy I've seen recently.
I thought Zombie Strippers was great aside from some shitty CGI effects. |

here's a few i have that aren't in there. Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker! - horrible schlock. maybe 1 or 2 good moments throughout the entire film. Premutos: Lord Of the Living Dead - ultra cheesy splatter flick with almost enough gore to rival Dead Alive. Zombie Bloodbath Trilogy: maybe not quite a zombie comedy, but all 3 are completely unwatchable shit with no redeeming values. Zombie Cult Massacre: maybe not quite a zombie comedy either, but is pretty laughable none the less. zero budget and pretty awful, yet pretty good fun at parts. Zombie Doom: Absolutely hilarious backyard garbage. Some pretty good gore effects but everything else is wonderfully awful. (this film is not for everyone, it just rubs me the right way) Zombie 90: see above. |
