ONE HOUR PHOTO (2002). Robin Williams gives a very subdued performance as a guy who works the Photo department in a Wa-Mart type store and that seems to be all He has. He appears to be fixated on a family that drops off their film, almost idealizing them as "Perfect", which leads to harrowing results as the film progresses. Well worth watching. ***1/2

I remember watching him (Robin Williams) in the movie "Insomnia" opposite Al Pacino. Excellent in that as well I thought.

Capone (2020) 7/10

Like watching Godfather III with Don Corleone being replaced by Jack Torrance, but sadly without a whole lot happening.

Tom Hardy did a great job playing an senile and rude Capone, with a raspy voice, however I had some issues with the make-up that had his face look old in some places and young in others. And his eyes... oh God, his eyes..

I would so much have prefered a Godfather II story, with an "old" Capone thinking back on his life in crime, starting with him as a kid. But noooo...

The Hunt (2020) 8/10

Up until the 1 hour mark I really loved The Hunt. It was really faced paced from the get-go and, which came as a big surprise to me, really funny. I woun't say the pacing ever went down, but after the first hour I just felt it needed a better twist after all the what-the-fuckness.

Loved Insomnia. Pacino and Hilary Swank nice touches, heavy themes.

After Patch Adams, he actually had a slew of darker, thought provoking kind of movies and I actually consider it an interesting highlight in his career.

Though arguably these kind of films started before Patch Adams with
"What Dreams may Come", another fantastic addition to these kind of movies.

You had:
Jakob the Liar
Bicentennial Man
(His small part in) AI
One Hour Photo
Death to Smoochy
Insomnia
The Final Cut
...almost one after the other.

A little further down the line he had "The Night Listener", one that I've never seen personally, but definitely fit into the tone of the others from what I've seen.

...and they're all actually quite good as well, would recommend anyone who hasn't dived into this rough decade of his career, take a look.
