Books of Blood

I thought the way the books of blood began was one of the coolest beginings ive ever read. What are some of your favorite stories from the books. May favorites are the Yattering and jak and the midnight meat train.

Im reading them through right now, just finished Rawhead Rex. It was pretty good. All of them are pretty good. I really liked Dread, and Son Of Celluloid.

I recently read the Books 1-3. I also liked the Yattering and Midnight Meat. They were in Book 1, I think. I remeber the first 3 or 4 stories were amazing (I read them in one night) and then I just couldn't put the book down. Finished Books 1-3 in a week. Very disturbing stuff!

I'm never keen on short stories to be honest but I did read B.O.B. 3 - I found it to be just okay, I much prefer his novels. His descriptions are great, especially the gore stuff though.

He blends his horror with sexuality quite often i've found. Much more so than say King, for example. It puts a very interesting spin on it.

I find Barker's use of sex a little distracting from the story sometimes. The plot is moving along nicely, and then, 20 pages of weird sexual acts between a human and a supernatural being. Makes me feel like I'm reading one of my girlfriend's Romance novels....
