Most definitely watch The Burning. If you cant find it anywhere, some guy posted it on youtube a couple weeks ago. Its a little similar to Friday the 13th, but much better.

Watch Halloween III, but without watching the other Halloweens around the same time. The film stands on its own.

If you can track down Black Christmas, I recommend that as well.

Also, you cant go wrong watching the original TCM. I consider that the greatest horror film ever made.

All the other suggestions are wonderful. I would add a couple of random things...

HORROR HOTEL (great movie)
NEON MANIACS (cheesy fun)
THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD (fantasy with lots of monsters!)
DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN (best awful horror film ever!)
ADVENTURES OF ICHABOD AND MR. TOAD (scary-as-hell Disney!)

Oh, and, if I had to pick one Argento film, it would certainly be DEEP RED because it is extremely stylish, and delivers the blood, but it also has a solid story and fun characters...I think of it as Argento's best.

A great 80's horror film is April Fool's Day. Definitely add that to your list.

I was wondering if you guys can throw out some recommendations of horror movies that you love. anyway, I'm gonna be hitting up the video stores quite frequently for the next few weeks and I'd love recommendations (new and old). Maybe you guys can help me find some gems that I haven't seen before or else completely forgot about. Thanks!

Couple of the cooler 70s horror movies.
Motel Hell is one of my all time favorites because of its dark humour and all round craziness.

I can get a double feature disc with he two of 'em for relatively cheap...worth it? I really want to see Motel Hell, but do you think Id like Deranged? Doesnt really sound like my style, but I might grab it anyway...
