"Berserk" (1967)
-Joan Crawford

Plot: IMDB

Monica Rivers, is the owner and ringmaster of a traveling circus and who'll stop at nothing to draw bigger audiences. When a series of mysterious murders begins to occur and some of her performers die gruesomely, her profits soar. She hires high-wire

walker Frank Hawkins, impressed by the handsome and muscular young man. They begin an affair which arouses her previous lover Durando's jealousy. When Durando is found dead shortly afterward, the other performers begin to take alarm, as a mysterious killer is obviously loose in their midst. Many suspect Monica herself of the killings, especially Matilda, who has set her sights on Monica's new lover. At this point, Monica's unruly, sixteen-year-old daughter Angela, is expelled from school for being incorrigible and Monica is forced to take her into the circus, allowing her to become the partner of knife-thrower Gustavo. Meanwhile, the dead bodies continue to pile up...

Phantom's Review: What a lousy movie! Despite a good cast (Joan Crawford and Micheal Gough) and an interesting concept this film is so boring. Crawford, who around 62 at the time, was trying to act like a sex symbol and It just didn't work. Also, they used a real circus to film at, and whenever any sort of suspense was starting to build it would be interrupted by a animal act and the director filmed the whole act and it brought the film to a screeching halt. By the time you found out who the murderer was, you just didn't care. And the finale is so lame, it looks like it was made up on the spot. A terrible film, don't waste your time on it.

Curse of the Demon

Dr. John Holden ventures to London to attend a paranormal psychology symposium with the intention to expose devil cult leader, Julian Karswell. Holden is a skeptic and does not believe in Karswell’s power. Nonetheless, he accepts an invitation to stay at Karswell’s estate, along with Joanna Harrington, niece of Holden’s confidant who was electrocuted in a bizarre automobile accident. Karswell secretly slips a parchment into Holden’s papers that might possibly be a death curse. Recurring strange events finally strike fear into Holden, who believes that his only hope is to pass the parchment back to Karswell to break the demonic curse. —IMDb

Mannequin in Red (1958)

One of the very earliest Giallo films from Sweden that some critics refers as the film which inspired Italian horror maestro Mario Bava to make his classic Blood and Black Lace (1964); as here's also the story centers around a fashion house and it all comes with colorful lighting & great camera works like any Bava film. But overall this is more of a mystery thriller than a Giallo feature with zero gore & little bit of humor at some parts.

Eye of the Devil (1966)

The premise was nice for an interesting diabolical thriller but the plot turned out pretty average where most of the time it seems like unsure of what it wanted to be or deliver as a whole. But the great thing about the film is the fantastic assemble of actors in it...Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Donald Pleasence, David Hemmings and the stunning Sharon Tate!:o

Donovan's Brain (1953)
Lew Ayres , Gene Evans Nancy Davis

Plot: Amazon

Dr. Patrick Cory is a scientist who, unable to save the life of millionaire W.H. Donovan after a plane crash, keeps his brain alive through an illegal experiment.

W.H. Donovan is much more than one of the world's richest men. He is a megalomaniac even before Cory keeps his brain alive in the tank. Once freed of the distractions of the flesh, the will to power is all that drives the brain. It is able to communicate with Dr. Cory through telepathy, but that is only the beginning. Soon it begins to take over the scientist who keeps it alive. Possessed by the mind of Donovan, Cory finds himself helpless to fight the plans of the tycoon. Cory remains aware as he follows orders, becoming more and more like Donovan. His wife is helpless, his assistant is helpless, to stop Donovan's Brain!

Phantom's Review: Fun little Sci-Fi film. More of a character study than most science fiction of the 50's. This film emphasizes dialog and drama over BOO! moments. Not great, but entertaining.
