In a recent interview with Onion's AV Club, Bruce pretty much puts his foot down and explains why he has no desire to do a fourth film anymore.
From Onion AV Club: AVC: In your opinion, is Ash worthy of more movies? BC: No. I think there should be an end to everything. I mean, did anyone really want Indiana Jones 4? The answer is no. I've taken a poll in about seven theaters now. Of 300 people, three hands go up. You are bound to disappoint. I would rather disappoint with a brand new original movie. People worship Army Of Darkness, and God bless them for it. It's a beautiful thing. The movie bombed when it came out, and not many people are aware of that. Twenty years later, the thing has picked up speed, and it's on American Movie Classics now. That was a long time ago, and whatever we do next will always be compared to Army Of Darkness, and I don't see how we can win. You make that movie, and I can tell you the quote right now, "Oh, it's not quite as good as Army Of Darkness." Then we would have gone through immense physical pain and anguish to bring something out that ultimately disappointed. That's really not what I'm into these days. Bummer, but he's 100% right. Let it be. http://www.avclub.com/articles/bruce-campbell,23651/

I don't think it would be bad if they kept it on the lines of "New", but the Indy Jones 4 point is a good one, and it should be understood that anything made as a sequel will recieve crap because it is a sequel. What you need to do is make a movie, with the undead, which isn't called Evil Dead anywhere in the title, brings up ash "Somewhere" in the story, but focuses on a different story. Make it decent quality, but use something like porn industry graphic and stage effects, and bring in people off the street. I think something along the lines of zombies in small towns along the coast would be cool, and we have a stan lee-esqe entrance for bruce where he's in a house, reading a newspaper, when a zombie runs on by and gets ready to jump when he flips out the shotgun saying, "Not now, she-bitch, I'm reading." The line doesn't need to be a quote, but that's just for the sake of asserting an idea.

As much as I would love to see a 4th ED, I agree with Bruce Campbell, a 4th would ultimately disappoint fans and draw comparisons to AoD, no one would like what it was because it wouldn't satisfy every fan.
As for Indy 4, that was brought out for the cash, it wasn't that good and no one really wanted to see another one (especially without Sean Connery lol). I say they leave the ED series alone as far as sequels go, but they should release ultimate editions of all three films.

I don't think he has anything to lose? I mean, he's old as shit....Fans are going to pay to see an Evil dead 4, indefinitely. Even if it doesn't live up to its expectations, fans will appreciate it and support it.
And like you said MisterSadistro, why did he waste time with 'My name is Bruce'? I saw it, laughed a couple times but overall it was stupid as shit. If he can take a risk like that how could an evil dead 4 be any worse? idk. I just would really love to see an evil dead 4...especially so many years after the last one. I think they could make another awesome movie. |

Army of Darkness 2??
http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/evil-dead...100300180.html
After the box office success of this year's 'Evil Dead' reboot, a sequel seemed inevitable: but it looks like it might not come in quite the form we expected. According to director Fede Alvarez, the plan may be not for a direct sequel to this year's hit, but a follow-on from the third instalment, 1992's 'Army of Darkness,' which would see original director Sam Raimi return to the series. Asked about what plans were for the future of the 'Evil Dead' series, Alvarez told Bloody Disgusting, "The pressure is on them now. Because as far as I know, and heard, Sam is really determined to get Army Of Darkness 2 happening... He is actually writing [it now]." However, series producer and original trilogy star Bruce Campbell was less specific when quizzed on the matter. "We have to figure out what we want to do… because this wasn't a huge long term 18 movie plan, you know what I mean? These sequels - remakes, sequels, whatever you want to call them - come out of nowhere." The possibility of multiple 'Evil Dead' movie universes running parallel has already been suggested. Back in March, Campbell told fans that the current plan was to make both an 'Army of Darkness 2' and a sequel to this year's 'Evil Dead,' and then for both narratives to meet in a seventh movie. This could conceivably occur without messing up the logic (such as there is!) of any existing film in the series. The 'Evil Dead' reboot featured an entirely new crop of characters, and while it broadly replays the narrative of the original film, it could easily be considered an altogether separate story that occurs within the same universe. In the first place, 1987's 'Evil Dead II' was more or less a remake of its predecessor anyway. Only 'Army of Darkness' can be definitively classed as a sequel, as it follows on directly from the climax of 'Evil Dead II,' with Bruce Campbell's hero Ash magically transported to the medieval era, where he continues his battle with the monstrous Deadites. A direct follow-up to 'Army of Darkness' could conceivably take either of two specific directions, given that 'Army of Darkness' had two alternate endings used in different territories. (Spoilers ahead!) The US version saw Ash successfully return to the present day, and return to his dual role as demon fighter, and housewares assistant at S-Mart. This ending was shot at the behest of studio Universal, who wanted a happy ending. However, Raimi's preferred version - which was used in the UK and other territories - saw Ash accidentally drink too much sleeping potion, and awaken in a post-apocalyptic future. I daresay a story that continues in this version of events might make for a more compelling sequel, but that might also make it trickier for the narrative to crossover with that of the reboot. Mind you, they've done time travel once already… Sorry if there's a thread on this already but I couldn't see one... What are peoples thoughts on this anyway? I for one would love to see the further adventures of Ash battling the deadites but not too enamoured with the thought of linking this to the reboot in another movie. |

They should follow both, that's about the only thing they haven't done yet.
I'd rather a crossover between the aftermath of each of those endings, that a crossover with the "new" ED universe. Though I have to say I'm pretty doubtful that I'll end up liking whatever gets made all that much anyways.
