I decided to give the german film Tattoo again last night. Its alright but nothing special. Just bout a person who collects specific tattoos (and their skin) for bidding purposes on the net.
Which gave me an idea . . . .:)

Stuart Gordon's "Falling down".

I can never get tired of the "Falling down" theme. A normal guys journey to insanity.

Enjoyed this one a lot, even tho it's not quite up there with Falling Down. Could have wished for another lead actor, not being a big fan of William H. Macy, but i thought he did a good job nevertheless. Also fun to see all the cameos, coz there sure were a lot of well known faces.

So, to all Falling Down fans in here. Edmond.
Great film. You should check out Stuck

Anamorph.

Ahhh Willem Dafoe. Ever since Platoon came into my life, I ve had nothing but awe for the man. His portrayal in Shadow of the Vampire swept me off my feet, and I am the very select few who adore Boondock Saints. This time again, he manages to be the lone bright spot in an otherwise gloomy flick, which suffers a lot due to mediocre supporting characters.

It has a great premise, and the atmosphere is very Saw / Hannibal Lecter-ish with some really stomach-churning gorific death sequences, and the cinematography is wonderful. If only the characters around Dafoe were a bit more fleshed out and gave it their best shot, and the script-writer paid some attention to developing them more, this could easily have been one of the best of this decade.

Nevertheless, I liked the most part of it, Return. One tip to future viewers, watch carefully or you might end up with a "WTF!" expression when the climax ends. It is a tad disappointing, yes, but it makes sense. (It is certainly no Seven anyway)

An American Haunting

Great storytelling, great acting from Sissy Spacek & Donald Sutherland. Really solid classic style horror, from 2005.

Ditto!

last seen:

Katyn (2007)

A Polish film about the mass execution of Polish POW officers and citizens ordered by the Soviet authorities in 1940. The story evolved through the eyes of the women; the mothers, wives and daughters of the victims executed on Stalin's orders.

A beautifully touching war movie. Nominated for Oscar at 2007.
