These days, if they make fun of anyone "different" its the French. For some reason, i think thast will always be okay.
I always got a kick out of how blatantly rough on the English "A Fish Called Wanda" was, especially since John Cleese wrote it. Of course, the underhanded part of it was, he really tore into the Americans too, it was just less obvious. It's like the whole movie said "We English are stuck up and stuffy. We really need to loosen up. Americans are just vulgar morons. 'Nuff said." The men of Monty Python were so observant :)
