never seen manhunter or red dragon. I assume manhunter is set before red dragon because i know that in that they discover he's a cannibal. I liked silence of the lambs and this should be fun. Hopkins i can tell is always going to be the best.

Ferret-

Manhunter and Red Dragon are both based on the same novel. Manhunter was made before Silence of the Lambs, with a totally unrelated cast/crew. After Silence and Hannibal became such huge hits, someone decided to remake Manhunter with Anthony Hopkins, but name it after the original novel...causing much confusion and giving film geek such as myself something to feel smart about:p

Both are pretty solid films...personally I think Manhunter is much better than Red Dragon, but I enjoy both.

Just read the review on ain'titcool.com - wow, Massawyrm really hated this one and went so far as to say :

"This is the type of origin you’d expect from a Ewe Boll – not the director of an Oscar Nominated art film and the writer of one of the best thrillers of our time."

ouch!

AAhh, I'll go see it anyway. I mean, the trailer looked o.k. I really like watching movies about how the killer got started. Probably because it's usually so screwed up I feel better about my life. Fake or not. Bring on the sickness!
