External DVD drive help
My drive burns discs fine but it's stopped reading data DVDs anyone help me out? Had a bit of google round but had no luck in getting this sorted.

Had the same shit here.
I can only reco maybe reinstalling it?
Failing that you'll probably notice it'll stop recognising just about any disk media.
Burning won't fail yet, but I'm pretty sure it's usually a downward spiral.

I think the laser is prolly knocked out of allignment - don't think there's much u can do about it. Happened to me on my laptop. just got an external burner.

Yeh I was kinda figuring it'd be fucked :(

Oh well looks like I'll have to fork out for new drive when I have the cash.
