Tales from the Crypt

I never read a "Tales from the crypt" comic, but they sound cool. So I bought a reissue of the first comic off of Ebay. If I dig, I'll look for the whole series.

Has anyone read a "TFTC" comic are they any good ?

Back in the 1950's, congress thought that juvinile deliquincy was caused by the comics kids were reading, mostly the horror books (Tales From The Crypt, The Vault Of Horror) so they created the Comics Code in hopes of toning down the books, instead William Gaines (creator of "Tales.." Vault...and Mad Magazine)pulled the comics off the market, instesd of watering them down. These comics are tame by todays standards, but are still fun too read. There are several hardcover collections on the market today,Check with a local comic shop.

Id assume the opening of Creepshow is a reference to this?
