I cant say which series was my favorite, I didnt know they were classified that way. There are some in each series I liked and some I did not. One of my favorites is Godzilla vs. Megalon. I saw it with my wife at a drive-in and we laughed our asses off. I dont know if they filmed it as a comedy or if it just turned out that way. I liked the original, I think it was the best. I dont know if this is true, but I heard they paid Raymond Burr one million dollars to be in Godzilla 1985 just for the few scenes he was in it. That was after he became famous as Perry Mason.

In 2008 Toho Studios produced the documentary Bringing Godzilla Down to Size: The Art of Japanese Special Effects.

Directed by Godzilla junkie Norman England, the documentary tells the entire story of an amazing era of Japanese SFX, begun by Eiji Tsuburaya and Yasuyuki Inoue.

Bringing Godzilla Down to Size is included on the DVD release of Rodan/War of the Gargantuas by Classic Media.

While it’s odd to find a doc about Godzilla with movies in which he makes no appearance, it is beautifully done. Narrated by Alex Cox, the doc contains plenty of interviews, including with Inoue and the members of his amazing crew.

These 2 sets will give you 16 films from the Godzilla series -

http://www.amazon.com/The-Godzilla-C...790413-8128308

http://www.amazon.com/Godzilla-Anniv...790413-8128308

Unfortunately, a complete box set of the entire series is still unavailable because the license holder companies of several Godzilla films are different.

Details (check the tabular listing) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla_(franchise)

It's a Terrific List

My own collection allows for titles Like Rodan, Mothra, King Kong Escapes, The Mysterians and over a dozen others which fall within the realm of the Godzillaverse. Can't wait for the new film from Warner/Legendary pictures.
