Madison Horror Film Festival helps fight Autism

The Madison Horror Film Festival is proud to be working with the Autism Society of Greater Madison to help improve the lives of people affected by Autism. Autism is a serious and often misunderstood disease that affects 1 million children and adults in the U.S. alone. This is a disease that is close to those involved with the film festival as friends of ours have children suffering from the disease. One of the guests, Elske McCain has a daughter with Autism as do our friends that run the Graveyard Show podcast out of L.A. Donations are being accepted at http://ow.ly/oQ6s as well as during the Madison Horror Film Festival. Advanced donations of $100 or more will receive a pair of weekend passes to the film festival.

The Madison Horror Film Festival is being held on Saturday October 3rd and Sunday October 4th at the Market Square Cinema located at 6604 Odana road in Madison, WI. The festival spotlights short and feature films in the horror genre. A complete festival schedule of selected films as well as trailers can be found at www.madisonhorror.com .

In addition to the great films and filmmakers involved, we have special guests lined up as well. This year’s guests include Stuart Gordon, founder of the Broom Street Theatre, writer, director and producer of such great films as Re-Animator, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Stuck and many more. We will be doing a special screening of Re-Animator along with a Q&A session with Stuart. Bill Rebane, Wisconsin native and director of Giant Spider Invasion, Monster, A Go-Go, Invasion From Inner Earth and more will be presented with the Wisconsin Filmmaker lifetime achievement award. Horror actress and host of Fangoria Radio Debbie Rochon will be on hand for a screening of her new film Colour From The Dark and a Q&A session as well. And last but not least we will be presenting a segment of the festival dedicated to Women In Horror hosted by Elske McCain and Scarlet Salem. For complete guest biographies visit www.madisonhorror.com .

As well as great films and guests we will also have vendors set up including Full Moon Features, Clayguy.com, local artists Samsarah and Judgehudrogen, and film companies Massive Ego productions and Scotchworthy Productions. We will also be raffling off items to benefit the Autism Society of Greater Madison including an autographed DVD of Jessicka Rabid starring Elske McCain, A DVD of May directed by Lucky McKee and more.

Tickets for the festival are $12 per day or $20 for the two day pass. Advance tickets may be purchased at Westfield Comics (7475 Mineral Point Road), Pre-played (426 State Street) or online at www.madisonhorror.com .
