So massacre man, I take it you're a fan of The Green Lantern huh? Honestly, I never got too deep into comics, and have skipped over this thread untill now. I know almost nothing of The Green Lantern, but from the sounds of things this movie is going to make me shit my pants? That may be over doing it a little. However your excitement is contagious, and your depictions of the script have my attention. If it's half as good as "might need to wear diapers to this movie", then I'm there dude.

It looks like Warner Bros. is close to settling on a man to play the Green Lantern, with the short-list now down to three to play the Air Force pilot-turned superhero.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actors who have made it through two rounds of auditions and into the final reckoning to play Hal Jordan are Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake. That's bad news for Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto, who the trade mag reports had their own screen tests early in the process. The main players involved are struggling to come to a consensus however, with director Martin Campbell, producer Donald De Line and the studio each having a different favourite among the finalists. The Reporter also claims that there a worries over the budget, with Warner apparently balking at the hefty $150-200m price tag. The film is still scheduled for a December 2010 opening however, so expect the role to be cast imminently.

Justin Timberlake could be a good Kyle Rainer, but not Hal.

They didnt hear you, MassMan.
He's played both Hannibal King and Deadpool for Marvel, campaigned for the role of The Flash, and is married to the Black Widow. Now actor Ryan Reynolds has won the title role in Warner Bros.' film adaptation of DC Comics' Green Lantern. According to both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, the 32 year-old Canadian beat out the likes of Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake and Jared Leto for the part of pilot-turned-cosmic hero Hal Jordan. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro) directs from a screenplay by Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. Filming is expected to begin this January in Australia after Reynolds wraps the thriller Buried. No word yet on what Reynolds' casting might mean for the Deadpool spin-off movie, but Reynolds is a big enough comics fan to likely appear in both franchises.

He'll be OK for Green Lantern, but he's just so fucking perfect for Deadpool. If he does end up playing both, there'd better be a joke about it in the Deadpool movie, heh.

I can live with Reynolds. I would have preferred Cooper as Jordan and Reynolds to play Wally West though. Can't complain.

Hal Jordan - I liked the David ?Boreanaz? rumour, looked more the part...but yeah I'd have rather seen Cooper.
Kyle Rayner - The younger brother from Supernatural ...and how about Guy Gardner? Sean William Scott was like, born for that role.

Ever since Ryan Reynolds was cast as the title character in Warner Bros.' Green Lantern comic-book adaptation, the film has shot to the top of the most-anticipated DC movies in active development.
But a new report today may be putting a bit of a damper on that particular production. According to Inside Film, and a Twitter feed from Production Weekly, Green Lantern's "proposed Australian shoot is understood to be under threat after the rising Australian dollar has blown out production costs." Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Mask of Zorro) is directing the film from a screenplay by Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green. Filming was expected to begin this January in Australia.
